
Kate Smith has over 22 years of experience as a registered Professional Engineer. She has worked on many types of projects, including industrial, commercial, institutional, aviation, civil, and land development. Her experience encompasses the perspectives on the Owner, Design/Builder, general contractor, and subcontractor.
Kate’s most recent project is managing the development of an academic center for Catholic Theological Union in Hyde Park. Her unique ability to manage the development and relationships with the parties involved has lead to the successful and timely construction of the facility.
Prior to working with IPM, Kate consulted with and worked for a number of development and consulting firms in the real estate and construction industry.
She is a graduate of University of Illinois with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and also has a Masters of Business Administration from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Kate remains busy in her professional and community affiliations with the Landmark Preservation Council of Illinois, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Network of Commercial Real Estate Women, the Lake Forest Historic Preservation Commission and the Lake Forest Construction Codes Commission.
